Sometimes its a joy to be at home off sick, now the cork has been fitted all seems well, so tonight its off to cricket practice, but first I can relax on the sofa with my bottle of water and watch England Vs Barbados, that should keep me amused until The Teenager arrives home.

Some exclusive news.... a new podcast called Total Bullocks will be coming to an itunes near you, featuring a gang of resting radio presenters it promises to be an hour of rubbish and filth, bearing in mind when on the radio there was a line of taste and decency which we tripped over now and again, itunes allows us to, well frankly as long as libel is not invovled we can be as filthy as possible, so Matt and I will be fully let loose, the only down side with being able to be explicit is we dont get to see Dave panicking when he can see when our chats are heading into a pool of filth, on many occasions poor Dave got in a flap with our antics, none more so than when we almost libelled Cat Deeley one Saturday morning! It should be fun and the team from our Millenium days will be together very soon recording the show.

Sunday see's me back at rehearsals and it appears I am to be an ugly sister in Cinderella! god help whoever comes to the show!
Well I did not get the Museum job and the job in Leyton I went for have not got back to me, thank god they have not as I would not work for them, man alive how rude they were! But I have an offer from a University for a job, which I am accepting today, so I can now tell my Council and my boss who I like so much (hint of sarcasm) where they can stick wasting my time! My new office at the Uni overlooks stuning grounds and is located in a 17th Century manor house, all very nice, now the HR Director at a museum where I once worked told me that you can not always earn good money and work in beautiful environment, just goes to show how wrong he is!

Teenage Finch was in the runs yesterday, sadly he was not playing cricket, and whatever bug he had I now have!

Now as you know doing the Scout Show I said I would only wear a dress if it was artisticaly intergral to the role....... I havenow been cast as an Ugly Sister in Cinderella...I suppose that is integral!

20 February 2009

Well thank god today is out of the way! first interview, the one I want went well, now have to wait and see, the second was a joke, the job was not what it said on the tin, and I found them quite rude, as far as I am concerned when you have finished an interview do you not show someone out after? someone should teach these twats that! They seemd to like me and we got to haggle over salary etc, they are way off the market rate, but based on their rudeness they can take a running jump!

Headed off up to Leyton for a good old session with G.... the cream cake was stunning! and Pete the Poof joined, what a funny man, the pair of us make a good double act! poor G, still she is off to Milan tomorrow....lucky sod...
Sweet Mary mother....I am so damn nervous

I have just been offered a job at a London University!!! Now with two interviews on friday I could be spoilt for choice! Need to tell them in a week if I want to take it, money is very good, boss is not the physchotic type (see previous full time employment) so it looks good, will just wait and see what happens with the museum one!

Well its been a busy day, work, home, shopping then cricket, work was its usual dull mind numbing self, but the shopping was very revealing! I got into a cab to bring me and my shopping and was chatting to the cab driver, when he revealed he worked at the same company as my late father, and when I mentioned my dads name his eyes lit up! turns out he knew my dad very very well! we had a really good chat and he was able to tell me a fair amount about my dad that I did not really know, sadly the journey was over way too soon, but he has my number.... I have to admit I felt a bit misty eyed when i got indoors. Cricket was good, my first for a few weeks, no major happenings other than young Finch being bowled by Dad and Uncle!

Next week could be a big one, I have a few interviews, one which I am so keen on is with a major museum in South Kensington, great money as well, I want this job very badly!

Its the boys 13th birthday next Monday, 13! how time flies! and a week last Friday I orederd him a new cricket bat as requested (he does not read this blog) a lovely looking Kookabura bat as used by some famous Aussie cricketer, I was assured that it would be here within 3 days, sadly the snow seems to have blown out that schedule, so I am chasing them hard to get it here before Monday, they will be faced with the Finch Rage if it is not here!

Had a very quiet day Saturday doing bugger all, and relaxing safe in the knowledge that Charlton would not ruin my weekend at around 5pm as their game was off. Sunday was quiet in the morning and then a busy afternoon rehearsing, for some reason I found that hard going and had an animated discussion with a member of the production crew about something or nothing, the whole cast thoroughly enjoyed watching that.... and then home to await the arrival of Young Finch from his mothers.

Last night I was asked to attend the District Scout Leaders Meeting, something I don't normally attend as I am not Scout Leader! I was there in my role as Show Publicity and duly dished out the flyers and spoke briefly about the show, then hung around to catch up with a fair amount of old friends, and may have ended up volunteering to man a drinks station at the Marathon!

I had two phone calls yesterday, I have an interview in Stratford and more excitingly another well known National Museum have a vacancy and they are keen to talk to me because of my museum background... so the good suit is off to the dry cleaners!

After the week I had I was glad to head off out with the boys for our reglular poker night, large amounts of Gin was consumed by myself and Mr O'Brien, Jordan fluked it and won the pot, and we spent a huge amount of time discussing the virtues of Biffens Bridge as a holday destination
Young Miss White rang from Bristol where she was holed up doing a hotel inspection with Pete the Poof, and we ended up discussing Biffens Bridge and the old cocknuckle, which I think is a pub in Biffens Bridge...all a bit bizzarre!!
Its a quiet day for me, Horror Boy is away for the weekend, so its watching the rugby and doing bugger all for me today, then tomorrow its rehearsals, tickets are available now!!!

Why do people pay a H&S advisor ask for the benefit of their knowledge because they know sod all, then when they do not like what you say tell you in their opinion you are wrong? waste of my time and effort, I was pissed off this morning on the way to work and after my advice at lunchtime my mood deteriorated rapidly, I am not happy being told I am wrong by someone who knows fuck all about H&S.....TWAT

4 February 2009

It was a very busy day today in the office, so much so we got to talking about parrots running amok in the the Brazilian rainforests...you see we are ecologicaly up to speed..... anyway I am reminded of a friend who shall remain nameles (Brian) who had a flea riddled old parrot, they were both very fond of each other, the parrot hated women, he would go for them everytime, which was a problem for Brians wife and 3 daughters! Brian and the blessed parrot hated parties, so whenever they had a party Brain and his feathered friend dissapeared up into the loft for the whole night, now and again one of us would wander up the ladder to the loft to deliver Brian a nice cold beer..... in the loft you would find Brain in a hueg comfy leather chair with the parrot perched on his shoulder.
