Today could be what is classed as a red letter day in the Finch household, I have spent the last month putting together our companies Smoking Policy, and organising our no smoking signage for 1000s of blocks of flats, briefing staff who run care homes and generally being the Trusts Smoke Free Tsar, all very well I hear you say, but as a man who has banned smoking across the trust in certain areas I have come under some pressure to cut down and stop, so today whilst at the Dr's sorting out my insides following the weekends camping in the lav, I mentioned to my Dr I would like to give up smoking (true) i also mentioned I had tried patches, gum, hypnotherapy and also was given beta blockers by my previous Dr to help me with my raging moods when i have tried before, so my Dr (who is the best I have ever had) suggested these pills, I take them for 8 -14 days and set a date to stop, then continue to take them for another month, they kill the craving and the mood swings, so 5th July is the day I stop, and every day I will put the cash aside that I would have spent on the evil weed and save up for my new MP3 player and some most excellent headphones, then we shall save for a 6 foot blonde with blue eyes and breasts to die for.....well you have to dream

Long time no blog! to be honest been a bit busy at work. Took Daniel up to town yesterday we went to the National Gallery then headed to Leicester Square to see West End Live, we went up by boat from Greenwich Pier to Westminster, arriving at lunchtime we stopped off in a place I know for lunch, which was nice but the after effects were pretty awful..... About 10.30 last night I felt a little bit sick which moved on to me throwing up until 4am this morning.... it was without doubt the longest night of my life...... so today has been very quiet, spent the day on the sofa flicking through Sky and worked out there is bugger all on tv on a Sunday..... normally when I feel like this I would take tomorrow off, but I am going to have go in regardless of how i feel, I have 1000's of No Smoking signs to send out in time for July 1st, so think of me tomorrow in between trips to the loo I will be counting out these bloody signs......

Wow what a busy weekend, Shopping for a futon mattress proved to be frustrating, but somehow whilst looking for the mattress I managed to purchase a new cricket bag and some new towels, not quite sure how I managed that! Saturday evening was spent at The Last Boys Scouts 30th (looks 40) birthday bash, which was a giggle, and had 95% of New Romney Mountain Rescue in attendance so the conversation turned filthy very quickly!
Sunday I was back on the cricket pitch where the my team (the Star) thrashed the living daylights out of The Priory CC, they beat us 3 weeks ago so we returned the favour with extras! After the game it was back to the Star for food and beer, I collapsed in a wretched heap when I got home last night, and woke up for work feeling very old..... Am on a course all week so plenty of time for sleep!

Greetings from Plumsteadshire, my bank have been very good and seemed to have agreed that I was not in Oxford Street ona spending spree and was in fact in Denmark! all sorted methinks.

The anti biotics finish today, so this weekend I am off the leash and loose amongst the alcohol again! which is perfect timing as I am at a birthday bash this weekend at Charlton FC, along with other members of the New Romney Mountain Rescue Team, so it promises to be a lively night.

Several people have wondered why New Romney, being marshland needs a Mountain Rescue Team, a very good question, well one reason is Dungeness Lighthouse (pictured) is very tall, and we are ready and on call if some poor member of the public needs rescueing. And there are some large mounds of sheep dung around the marsh which can ben tricky! add in the steam railway and global warming and the need is definitely there! I can expand on the reasons but you will need to ring me after 10pm Saturday night once I have a had a few sherberts to fully explain.

I think I may be getting old, the reason is Greenwich Council are holding some sort of event on the green at the back of my humble abode, which is fine with me, except they have some git playing music, now i like music but frankly the crap they are playing is doing my head in, Ricky bloody Martin has been blaring, and the DJ reminds me of a certain DJ on a recent radio station I was on, the twat has just played Bob the feckin Builder for gods sake..... I may resort to going out there and doing something illegal with the speaker wires, why have I had no warning of this? I was looking forward to a QUIET day at home......bastards

I had a busy weekend planned, out tonight with my Nephew (Blue Oyster Bar I presumed, as he writes with a green pen) and then out again tomorrow evening with rest planned in between, which would have involved me drinking alcohol which frankly speaking I can handle! but I had a an abcess come up and as a result am on anti biotics and not allowed to drink!!! so anyone any ideas as to what I can get up to this weekend?

I have fallen victim to a Card scam, apparently last Saturday I went on a shopping spree in Central London! sounds great, love to have seen what I purchased, problem is I was in Denmark! so some bugger has got my card details and had some fun with my cash! spoke to the bank last night, and they have cancelled my card, and extended the overdraft and are promising to pay the money back, so thats ok... would love to get my hands on the thieving gits, it annoys me, I earn my money through hard working, and then some thieving arsehole who has probably never had a job comes along and steals it, because they cannot be bothered to work, and think the world owes them a living. Its high time these people were caught and put away, they are serial offenders and 3 strikes and your out would go a long way to stopping this type of low life, and I dont care what the tree hugging human rights think, commit 3 crimes and thats your lot for a very long time, these bastards should get what they deserve.....
