I use Twitter, its a bit of harmless fun, I enjoy regular conversations with Phill Jupitus and a few others, but it seems the England Cricket top brass, including Andrew Strauss do not, current players, Jimmy Anderson, Graham Swann and Tim Bresnan use it, Jimmy and Graham used towards the end of the Ashes and had a competition to see who could attract the most followers, this led on to some very funny banter between the pair of them, Jonathan Agnew and David Lloyd are also keen Twitters and joined these two in the harmless banter. Phil Hughes the young Aussie opener was a regular Twitter user, until he mentioned his omission from the Aussie test team 24 hours before the team was announced, this led to him not using Twitter, Darren Bent also fell foul of his Spurs bosses, frustrated by the on off move to Sunderland he announced on Twitter he wanted Spurs to sort it out asap, as result he made back page headlines and the closing down of his Twitter account. The England team flew off to South Africa for the ICC Trophy series and Tim Bresnan joined the Twitter brigade in the England and launched into the hilarious banter with Swann and Anderson, until somebody posted a photoshop type photo portraying him as a bit of a chunky lad, this obviously touched a nerve with Bresnan who posted his annoyance on his Twitter, as a result the England management had a word and since then he has hardly used Twitter, Swann and Anderson continue and provide a sometimes funny sometimes serious insight into the life of an international cricketer. Sadly Andrew Strauss has stated that this will be banned on the tour to South Africa. What a shame, in these days where the media releases are controlled by a small group of suits it was refreshing to hear what the players themselves thought.

Lastr nights Poxy Shirt Poker night was good, reasonably sober yours truly triumphed!!!
