Right it has been all quiet on the radio front lately, but this morning I have had an offer to present a Friday night show.....the travel is not bad, oooh very tempting.....

Went to the Royal Albert Hall last night for the Proms, saw the Countess of Wessex....I would if he won't!!! It was very good, as we were in a box I stocked up on Gin and Tonic whilst my companions got stuck into a bottle of white, I would like to praise the bar staff, but sadly I cannot, our barman was a shocker, a rude ignoramous of the first order! anyway a good time was had by all and I am back tonight for an evening of brass.
Cricket tomorrow with the Old Finch playing, the weather report gets better as each hour passes so hopefully we will get a game if not the Stars profits will rise, as Lover Boy (Dan) is staying at his mums until Monday, so Dad is off the leash... the poor boy is in love! his new beau telephoned the other day and called me Mr Finch! very polite this girl... Dad approves.

Waterloo and Sex

Found an interesting way to enjoy coffee with a friend on Waterloo Station, when not looking at the screen showing a gay rugby scrum!!!!, we convinced ourselves that everyone who was walking through the station hand in hand or together had just come from a secret location somewhere at the station, which is a swingers place, and these couples had just picked out each others keys and they were off for a shag fest at a local hotel.... sad I know but great fun, oh and I have been asked to point out we talked about sex for a whole hour!!!!

Two Finch's on the pitch!!!

Well this Sunday see's a very rare event, The Star CC take on Old Dartfordians, at Avery Hill, and for the first time in The Star Cricket Clubs history, two Finch's will take to the field, Myself being the one, the other will not be Kent's finest, Daniel, but my slightly older and plumper brother Bill. Dan cannot play for a Club as low as us due to the fact he is know property of Kent!!!! well thats his story and he is sticking to it.

I see in certain papers Charlton are chasing Danny Murphy, now I have a sneaking suspicion that some Charlton fans may not want him back, but I think they should remember that Murphy was one of many players that the 'not so' great Curbs clashed with , I refer you to Smertin, Konchesky and many others, all to the detriment of the team, had Murphy not clashed with Curbs in the first place he would have stayed and provided the class we needed to stay up, but Curbs does not tolerate players disagreeing with him, the way Konchesky was allowed to leave was a disgrace, when you have a choice between ageing Chris Powell and young Paul Konchesky does it not make sense to go with youth? obviously not, I for one feel the state of the team Dowie inherited was shocking, and that is down to Curbs.

It appears young Dan is rather talented, he has been asked to attend coaching with Kent County Cricket Club, must have inherited his fathers abilities.........

The Fabulous Spongmonkeys

I must be mad, I am off in August with Dan, my mate Stephen and his 3 boys, we are having a weekend in the Brecon Beacons, and taking the boys to show them the Waterfalls that we have spent so many years exploring. We will be camping on a farm in Ystradfellte, about 10 mins walk from the New Inn (very handy) which has been run for the 25 years I have been going by Selwyn, now I have noticed that the licensing laws are an oddity to Selwyn and they are there to be abused! We are also close to Porth Yr Ogorf caves which are awesome we will take the boys to the cave entrance but not inside, its one of the most dangerous caves in the country. Should be a good weekend and there will be plenty of photos taken. There is a rumour coming from Bridgend that my big brother may join us for the weekend.

I think West Ham may be in deep trouble over Tevez, they claimed at there hearing last season that they had torn up the agreement with the dodgy Iranian who 'owns' him, now when it comes to him signing for Man Utd suddenly the dodgy Iranian wants the cash from the transfer? West Ham may have torn up the agreement but it sounds like a one sided affair to me, this all hinges on who gets any fee, if West Ham get the fee, well everything is ok, but if it is paid to the agent then West Ham as far as I can see still had the same arrangement in place that cost them a £5 million + fine and should then receive a points deduction, and that points deduction should come off of last season, therefore relegating them immediately, and Sheffield United should be back in the Premier League.... Ho hum we are still down but I think West Ham have lied and lied time and time again over this and should be seriously punished.
Charlton started their campaign last night with a 2-0 win at Welling, goals from Luke Varney and Chris Dickson, I look the look of the players Pards is signing, looks like its going to be a good season, Palace have failed to sign hardly anyone of note, and with any luck will struggle, cant wait to hear the reception the Charlton faithful give Simon 'Perma Tan' Jordan, after all the man is a complete pratt

God I am so pissed off.

Vive Le France!!! We have just walked 5 mins down the road and watched the Tour De France hammer past, blink and you miss these buggers, they are very very quick, had some fun with a jobsworth PC who once the race had passed refused to let me cross the road to get home, so we had a discussion where i told him i was about to cross a public highway he told me i would get arrested, and i might get hit by a passing bike, now bearing in mind they had all past with there support vehicles some 10 minutes earlier it was quite obvious to anyone with half a brain that the road was clear, but not PC NoBrain, oh no you shall not cross was his attitude... so after pointing out he would have a lot of trouble getting a charge to stick I crossed the road into an animated roasting from PC No Brain number 2, who I chose to ignore!!!! I blame the bloody French!!!! Please note this outburst is in no way related to the fact I have given up smoking....

As of Tuesday night at around 7pm the Finch household became a smoke free zone, not a fag has passed my lips... i visited the Dr to day to do some tests and in two days the CO2 levels in my body have dropped already, my sense of taste is improving, which is more than can be said for my sense of humour, my technician stupidly decided today was the day to take the piss out of me.... wrong move, said technician left the office sharpish after a severe tongue lashing, I can confirm that my lack of nicotine had absolutely nothing to do with the tongue lashing...
