Ok an early preview of this weeks show, Saturday 4-7pm 95.6 fm or on www.brfm.net with webcam!!!
Its crunch time for both Simon and Dave in their challenges, Simon has 3 weeks left to predict 3 correct Sittingbourne scores or its the bath of beans for him, and Dave needs one correct dog tip to succeed in his challenge and avoid the parachute drop.
We will be following Sittingbourne FC as they take on Tooting and Mitcham away, John 'the leg end' Pitts will be reporting live for us, Sheppey Utd are up against Borden Village in the Kent County League Division 1 East, Mark Rogers is our man at the match, and Mark will be in the studio between 6-7 for our regular Sheppey Sunday League update
The cycling is in the air at the moment, my knee has swollen up again and I am going to see my Dr as its giving me a lot of pain.

Well blow me down, what an astonishing result, 4-0, the Hammers looked a shambles, and also look doomed, now I have always said Charlton's problems can be traced back to Dec 05 when the team started to lose the plot under Curbs, forget Dowie, the real blame can be traced back to then, especially when we lost to Blackburn in the Carling Cup after being 2-0 nil up, so I took a lot of joy when we blew West Ham away, although my work footie team would probably have beaten that rabble, but it was good to see us playing with determination, skill and Ben Thatcher with that air of menace that he has, when Marlon Harewood came on Thatch got stuck into him and in no time young Marlon dissapeared, I took the opportunity to miss my radio show to see this game, and was called upon to deliver non biased match reports, now think hollering "you beauty, get in ther" as the 4th goal went in was a prime example of my lack of bias..... I knwo Wigan won but we play them, Watford, Sheff Utd and a team that I think could get dragged into it, Man City, if we win all of these I reckon we should be ok, one team in the bottom 3 usually escapes, Watford look like they are gone, and the Hammers are totally deflated so I predict The Addicks will stay up!!!
Yours in red.

Now I am not a political animal, but when my son has two teeth painfuly extracted to prepare for a brace, then turn up at the hospital to be told the NHS no longer funds this type of work I get angry! and then the Consultant bless him tells me we can have it done privately, no worries I thought a few hundred quid, well worth it..... until he tells me it will cost between £2500 - £3000! The best year so far for the NHS my arse Mrs Hewitt, so I have sent our Health Minister a lovely email, no doubt like James Allen she will not reply.

I am back, sorry there have been no postings, last week was not a good one, I had a paticularly bad case of man flu....
I still managed two do two extra shows on BRFM, the 9-12 one I did seems like ages ago, thanks to Big Dave, Colonel Bertie and Sue for dropping in and helping out, we sailed extremely close to the wind during the show, and an hour in recieved an email form the station manager telling us to behave or else! so I was not expecting to be asked to do anything other than the sports show, but poor Dave W my man on the sport show caught the dreaded man flu so lat weekend I ended up doing 4-9, the last two hours we dedicated to teaching the locals Chinese, and spent an hour playing inappropriate songs for a wedding such as: The winner takes it all, Won't get fooled again, all very popular, thanks to Simon for helping out.
Due to the man flu the bike has been hidden away, I have had no energy at all, but this Sunday Lee and I are cycling to Central London and doing all the Royal Parks, so Sunday night should be quiet.
I will not be on BRFM this weekend, I am taking myself to The Valley to watch the mighty reds thrash the sad hammers (please god) with my now 11 year old son, who got spoilt rotten by all and sundry on his birthday last week.
Will try and keep up with the blog as I got told off the other day for not doing it!
Yours in Hope

Greetings, the hamstring is much better today, have some stretches to do berfore and after. Tonight the bike will stay locked away, I am meeting up for indoor nets with my new cricket team, The Star Inn, Plumstead, they seem like a good bunch and dont take it too seriously unless an Aussie comes to the crease, then the pace is upped and the length becomes a tad short..... I would describe myself as Ian Botham type, but take away the talent! I bowl better than I bat, I know how to hold the bat, and how to swing the bugger but thats about it, but I can bowl, used to be quick but its strictly medium pace with a bit of swing, and the odd quicker ball... My son on the other hand is a left arm spinner, and my god he can spin the ball.... So thats the entertainment tonight, stand by for aching sides tomorrow.

Colonel Bertie has confirmed his attendance for Saturday nights show on www.brfm.net 9-12, so the studio will have that oh so familiar aroma of horses. I think we will be playing a lot of 70s and 80s classics and the odd rock gem thown in to wake Sheppey up! hope they realise whats going to hit em.

Its the junior Finch's 11th Birthday next Friday, 11!!! my god where have the years gone? next Friday he is having a birthday party at Goals, and he has roped Simon in to ref, which is understandable as he is a ref and has a look of the Neale Barry about him, I am hoping he has not inherited my habit of continually assessing the refs performance throughout the game, which led me to see cards of yellow and then usually a quick red followed by a lonesome shower! Although having seen the little rascal play for his school team recently I fear like father like son. My most memorable sending off was when i asked a ref if I told him he was a $&*& would he send me off, he replied yes, so I enquired if I thought that, he could not send me off, to which he replied that is correct, so I told him I thought he was a *&*& and got a red card......... Yours in the doghouse

Well its not looking good for a long ride on Sunday, Lee has a knackered knee, which he thinks is caused by the running he did on Saturday morning, and a mile into my journey this morning I felt a huge amount of pain in my left hamstring, so I am going to see a physio as soon as possible to have it looked at.
This week on BRFM I have the deep joy of two shows to do in one day, I will be doing my usual 4-7 Sport Show and then resting for 2 hours before doing 9-12, now rumour has it that Big Dave Lockwood may join me for the show at 9, if thats the case stand by for some adult entertainment, its been a couple of years since we were unleashed on the air together so this should be interesting, I am going to speak to Colonel Bertie, and try and drag the old fella down to join us for the evening, so be sure to listen in on 95.6 fm in the local area or on www.brfm.net. Matt is having a birthday bash that evening so he will be unavavilable.
Will let you know what plans we have for Saturday night nearer the time.
Yours in pain again.

Had a really good ride home from work, got home in just over an hour, which is not bad, considering Blackheath Hill a part of Shooters Hill are involved I think I did quite well. Lee and I are off to Wales in early March for a weekend of heavy duty training, which will include and minimum of 40 miles in one day with shorter rides on the day before and after, thankfully the Finch hotel in Bridgend has room!
Also off to Denmark in late My, and will be able to get a ride in over there inbetween those gorgeous whisky's my friend Anton tempts me with and watching AGF Aarhus playing.
Now my young son is always good for a giggle now and again, Lee has taken up Pilates this evening (he will suffer in the morning) I told young Dan about this, and he innocently asked if it was a nightclub.......
Yours in fits of giggles

Well well, Dave Williams is well on his way to avoiding the big parachute jump with two winners yesterday, he now has 4 winners from 3 weeks with 3 weeks to go... and only 2 required, Bugger.... As for Simon, it was a desperate start for him, he predicted a 2-1 win to Sittingbourne away at Kingstonian, bearing in mind the Brickies current form it seemed a bit of a long shot and so it proved, although talking to John 'the legend' Pitts after the game it appears that the boys missed a golden chance at the death to clonch the win and Simon's first correct prediction, shame that.... After the Legend had given us the low down on the game against Dartford next Saturday, Simon has gone for a 2-0 Dartford win, come on you brickies!!!
News of young Travers who had an eventful day on the bike yesterday, a puncture and split tyre ended up with a visit to the cycle shop in Woolwich (not a place for the fainthearted). The looney ran over to my place from his to collect the bike, and then later on in the day over a bucket of KFC wondered why his legs were killing him, in conversation he mentioned that on the bike he noticed slight inclines...jesus wept whats it going to be like climbing the South Downs on the first day if he notices a bump near Thamesmead???
Getting to the Studio was hell on earth yesterday, thanks to the trains being buggered, it was so nice of them to tell us that there were no trains between Rainham and Sittingbourne, we got to the studio with just 10 minutes to spare!! oh and whilst you are organising this try and get the replacement buses to run inconjuntion with the trains, now that would be such a good idea.
Yours in a compartment to himself
